Diagnostic Errors

Errors in diagnosing a person's medical problem can often cause one to suffer physical and sometimes permanent life altering injuries. An error in diagnosis can occur in many situations including; when an x-ray is not read properly and a problem is missed and left untreated; a mammogram is not read properly and a cancerous breast mass goes untreated; a pathology slide is not read properly and perhaps cancer goes undetected and untreated; a patient's symptoms of a heart attack in an emergency room or doctors office are mistaken for something else and the heart attack goes untreated for too long.

Diagnostic errors clearly can alter a person's life and even survival. If you are concerned that a diagnostic error may have occurred, you should consult an attorney immediately to investigate the matter, as there are strict time limitations for pursuing these types of cases.
